Four years ago, Amanda Sutej, Director of Capital Property Conveyancing, recognised the need for the Golden Plains region to have a locally based Conveyancing service. The convenience of not having to travel to Geelong has been a big plus for both buyers and sellers alike.

Of course, she admits that her timing could have been better! A successful Conveyancer for 10 years, Amanda struck out on her own just as COVID came to town. With the initial downturn in the Real Estate market, she admits that the slow start meant she had time to ensure her systems were in great order and now prides herself on providing great, prompt customer service with attention to detail and the amount of repeat business she gets supports this.

A member of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers, Amanda tackles all aspects of Conveyancing such as the most common preparation of contract of sale and section 32 for sellers and reviewing of contracts and completing settlements for both sellers and purchasers. She also handles the delicate task of transferring property ownership between spouses and the complex aspect of lodgement and settlement of subdivisions. And although a great deal of her clients come from this region, she completes property transfers for all Victorian properties- including Commercial.

When asked about the common myths in the industry, Amanda said some people still believe that a Conveyancer cannot do the same job as a Solicitor in terms of a Conveyance (property transfer). In actual fact, Amanda feels that because Conveyancers focus on property transfers only, they are often more aware of the nuances and strict time constraints required, and are definitely a more affordable option!

One of the first things Amanda did, upon creating Capital Property Conveyancing was to rejoin  the Chamber and even volunteered as a committee member for several years.
